Ministry of Commerce: Accelerating the Construction of New Infrastructure for Foreign Trade and Building a Cross border Logistics Network

The reporter learned from the official website of the Ministry of Commerce,   the on-site meeting of the National Cross border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province from May 30th to 31st. The meeting requires all regions to seize the opportunities for China’s cross-border e-commerce development, solidly promote the construction of comprehensive pilot zones, and create a new highland for innovative foreign trade development. To promote the digital application of trade and enhance the level of customs clearance facilitation; Sort out mature experience and practices, and organize specialized training; Accelerate the construction of new infrastructure for foreign trade and build a cross-border logistics network; Optimize the functions of online service platforms and explore new models of financial services; Actively exploring emerging markets and strengthening international exchanges and cooperation.

It is reported that the proportion of cross-border e-commerce goods import and export to foreign trade has increased from less than 1% five years ago to about 5% currently. There are over 100000 cross-border e-commerce entities in China, over 200000 independent stations have been built, and approximately 690 cross-border e-commerce industrial parks are located in the comprehensive pilot zone. China’s cross-border e-commerce trading partners are located worldwide and have signed bilateral e-commerce cooperation memorandums with 29 countries.
